Therapy is an investment and we take that seriously.

We understand the importance of finding a therapist that’s not only qualified to help you reach your goals, but also one who you have a really great relationship with. It’s why we offer all prospective clients a complimentary 30 minute consultation. Therapy is an investment of your time, energy and money, and it’s so important to us that we’re the right fit for what you need.

Invest in Your Relationship

  • We’re happy to offer a complimentary 30 minute consultation with your therapist.

  • Our fees range from $150 to $170 per 50 minute session. Click here to learn more about our therapists, their specialties, and fees.

  • There are two important reasons why we’ve chosen to be out-of-network. One, we want to work for you, not your insurance company. This also means we can keep your personal information confidential. Two, being out-of-network allows our staff members to be compensated well and receive high-quality benefits for themselves and their families. Well-taken care of therapists means better client care.

  • To make out-of-network billing easier for you, we’ve partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay your co-insurance for our sessions after your out-of-network deductible has been met, instead of paying our full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This can save you on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, we can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your co-insurance would be.

  • If you choose to work with us and not use Thrizer, we’re happy to provide you with a superbill, also known as a medical receipt, that you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Most of our clients have out-of-network benefits and receive coverage for their sessions.

  • We accept all major credit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards (yes, you can use these benefits towards therapy!)

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What should I expect in my first session?

A: Your first session is your opportunity to share why you’re seeking therapy, and what about your life you’d like to change. Your therapist will ask questions about your past relationships, so they can start to develop a plan for you to move forward.

Q: I’m not in a relationship. Can I still be in sex therapy?

A: Absolutely. We’ve helped countless individual clients improve their relationship with their sexuality. Feeling confident with yourself as a sexual person is so important, and we’d love to help you build that confidence!

Q: What’s the difference between couples therapy and sex therapy?

A: Couples therapy and sex therapy are sub-specialties in the mental health field. Treating sexual issues requires hundreds of hours of additional training post graduate school, with the option to become certified. Couples therapy involves advanced training in science-backed treatment methods. Our practice offers both sex therapy and couples therapy.

Q: I want to work with you but need to check with my insurance. What should I ask them to see if I’m covered?

A: Talking to your insurance company can be confusing (they make it that way!) Here are the exact questions to ask to find out if you’ll receive reimbursement for your sessions:

  • Do I have out of network mental health benefits?

  • What is my out of network behavioral health deductible?

  • Is there a limit to how many sessions per year I can see my therapist?

  • Do I require preauthorization to see my therapist?

  • What will I be reimbursed per session based on these codes: 90791; 90837; 90847

  • What’s the easiest way for me to submit my superbill for reimbursement?

Q: I’m ready to sign up for therapy. Where do I start?

A: You can start my completing our appointment request form found on our Contact page. You can also send us an email at intake@cmrchicago.com if you have additional questions. We can’t wait to work with you!
